The implementation of Coal Export Terms will be effectively as 1st of October 2014 03-Oct-2014

Jakarta – Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) had a meeting with Ministry of Trade, Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), Directorate General of Customs, Indonesian Coal Mining Association (APBI) and surveyors as well, regarding the implementation of registered exporters (ET Batubara) which effectively applied early October. (as per 1st of October)

Secretary of the Directorate General of Mineral and Coal Paul Lopez said the meeting in order to ensure the implementation of the export requirements running smoothly. "Also discussed about advance royalty payments. Business players already understood about it," Paul said in Jakarta on Monday (29.09).

Paul said that mechanism of royalty payment is applied in order no more arrears as occurred before. The mechanism is, firstly  business players calculate the quota of export and pay royalty based on the calculated quota. After that then surveyors will do re-calculation of this quota to determine how much the royalty actually should be paid. As an example :  the players who export 90 vessels of coal in one month then royalty should be paid  in advance for those 90 shipments.

If any overpaid occurred after re-calculated by surveyors then it will become 'a saving' for royalty in next month, "he explained.
Said that the government will give leeway for a week after the application of  ET. After meeting with associations, revealed that some business players  are still in process of getting the ET but already done coal transshipment. "There will be dispensation, But after that no more leeway," he said.
