As pioneers of the Far East over the last 150 years, the Ben Line name has been involved heavily in transporting equipment from Europe to Asia for many many years.
The Hong Kong MTR is an infrastructural masterpiece, and here you can see the history which Ben Line has with it. In the 1990s we were responsible for transporting MTR trains from the Loughborough based Brush Electrical Machines, 9700 miles to destination in Hong Kong, helping to grow the city’s transport network to its monumental heights.
The two pictured here, L57 and L59, entered service in 1989, and L59 can still be found at Kowloon Bay depot.
This is one of many examples of Ben Line at the forefront of Euro-Asian trade, and of helping to grow the rapidly expanding Asian economies of the 1980s and 1990s
