Air Pollution Control (Ocean Going Vessels) (Fuel at Berth) Regulation w.e.f. 1 Jul 2015 09-Jun-2015

 

An incentive scheme on reduction of Port Facilities and Light Dues will also be introduced with effective from 1 Jul 2015, for a period of 30 months upto 31 Mar 2018.
 
Under the incentive scheme, Vessels which are subject to port facilities and light dues will have their port facilities and light dues reduced by half (i.e. HKD 43 per each 100 NRT x 50 percent), if the following conditions are met: 
 
a. successfully registered with the Environmental Protection Department (EPD) for joining the extended Incentive Scheme before arriving Hong Kong; and
 
b. use compliant fuel or use technology that can achieve SO2 emission reduction at least as effective as using low sulphur marine fuel while inside Hong Kong waters and confirm its use by notifying EPD within 48 hours after vsl’s arrival, using the specified EPD notification form.
 
Registration for joining the extended Incentive Scheme under above a. is a one-off exercise and require 10 days process. Reduction will not be granted to non-registered vessels.
