The British Chamber of Commerce in Indonesia is organising a Breakfast Briefing in Jakarta, together with the Maritime Anti-Corruption Network (MACN).
The MACN aims to promote good corporate practice in the maritime industry tackling issues of bribes, facilitation payments, and other forms of corruption by adopting the MACN Anti-Corruption Principles, seeking to implement, and share best practices, to create awareness of industry challenges. Also in collaboration with key stakeholders, government bodies, authorities, and international organizations, to identify and mitigate the root causes of corruption in the maritime industry.
Ben Line Agencies’ country manager for Indonesia, Mr Daniel Pitts will be representing the Maritime Anti-Corruption Network to share our perspective as a member of MACN and on an on-going initiative with the UK FCO to enhance the legal transparency in the Indonesian maritime sector.
Joined by various professionals in the shipping industry, the event aims to highlight issues regarding Indonesia’s US$6 billion investment plans to revamp the country’s port infrastructure and support systems in order to spur domestic trade and increase exports.
