MPA to introduce measures to optimise anchorage usage in Singapore Port effective from 1 October 201 29-Sep-2015

The MPA has issued a circular announcing that, with effect from 1 October 2015, it is reducing the time vessels are allowed to stay at the anchorage without activity from 72 to 36 hours due to the increasing pressure on anchorage availability.  Vessels that stay beyond 36 hours without a valid reason may be directed to leave port.

This does not apply to Offshore Support Vessels under Cat 4 Port Dues, certain salvage vessels and MPA licensed harbour / pleasure craft.  Offshore Support Vessels under Cat 4 port dues are allowed to stay at designated anchorages indefinitely subject to space availability.
