South Sumatra Governor, H Alex Noerdin, prohibit all coal transport pass the public road. He announced the circular letter, even though construction of new hauling road for coal hasn’t 100 % done.
Circular letter is strictly implemented by 1st April 2012, yesterday. Coal truck from mine location known to have large tonnage and very potential on destructing the public road as most of the asphalt and concrete road is not designed for heavy tonnage vehicle.
Since the new hauling road build by PT Servo will take another 4 months to finished, coal and transportation association request to postpone the implementation of this circular letter and try to get the truck operated during night time.
Head of Communications Transport and Informatics South Sumatra, Sarimuda - told reporters in Palembang on Monday, explain that Governor's Decree is applicable while waiting for further evaluation and find the alternative solution.

A reminder has been issued by the South Sumatera Governor that the transportation of coal is forbidden on public roads.
